Content Management: Benefits

Talking to people out and about i realise that not a lot know what a Content Management System (CMS) is, let alone the benefits available to them by migrating their site across to one.

A CMS is a base framework for a website that enables users to be able to update their website content from any computer in the world without the hassle of having to deal with a 3rd party or external developer.  immediately allowing website owners to save money by doing the simple work themselves, a CMS website doesnt take long to pay itself off.

Many of my clients soon become frustrated with the way that some of their previous designers/developers have been handling their requests for simple updates.  Often times developers are caught up in large projects and see small changes as unnecessary and as the types of things that can wait until quieter times often failing to realise that what may seem unimportant to them may in fact be quite the opposite for you the client.

Imagine cutting out the middle man, leaving the 3rd party behind and having the ability to make these changes yourself or at least by an in-house staff member.  Changes you need made to your content can happen right away making your website truly dynamic.  What's written on your website is all that potential clients have to go by when building a first impression of your company.  Frequently change your company profile, update your portfolio and even add new products or images.  Keeping your site updated gives visitors the feeling that they can rely on this information source to be accurate and up to date and also generates repeat visits.
